Join us!
Thank you for your interest in the Twin Cities Squadron!
2009 is going to be a fantastic year for the Twin Cities Squadron Sea Cadets.
Take advantage of this opportunity.
It's quite easy to join the Sea Cadets. The cost is reasonable, and there is no military obligation involved.
Make sure that you explore this website and read the command policy statement to make sure that you understand our qualifications and expectations. Look at our calendar to get an understanding of the schedule of our events.
Please fill out this form to express your interest in Sea Cadets and to inquire about one of our informational meetings.
Here's the process:
- Keep in mind that we cannot accept drop-ins and you must e-mail or call the Squadron to arrange a visit.
- The prospective cadet and a parent (or legal guardian) must both attend an introductory meeting that lasts 30-45 minutes. These meetings are held on the mornings of our drill weekends.
- The prospective cadet is welcome to spend the day with us (bring a bag lunch and wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing). This gives him/her an opportunity to observe what we do.
- If you come to the informational meeting on the first drill day, you may return the next day to spend another day with us.
- At the end of the day we will send an application package home with you. It must be carefully completed. You need to provide information that includes immunizations, health insurance, and social security number.
- Bring the completed package back on the next drill weekend, along with payment. The enrollment fee is $235, which primarily covers administrative processing and uniform rentals. We provide Navy uniforms for you to wear as a cadet, and we replace them as you continue to grow. They are rented however, and must be returned when you leave the program. We give the cadet a set of US Navy Sweats and a Squadron T-shirt (these are yours to keep after you leave the program).
- The renewal fee for each additional year is $130 if paid in full, or $70 every six months. Compared to most other youth organizations, we are very affordable and within the means of most applicants. This is because we rely heavily on adult volunteers and donations.
